The GEPRC MATEN 2.5W VTX PRO is the upgraded version of GEPRC’s high-power MATEN analog video transmitter — adding an active built-in micro turbofan cooling system to the same 2500mW output ceiling, CNC aluminium shell, and IRC Tramp feature set. Where the standard MATEN relies on passive heat dissipation, the PRO actively pushes air across the internals, making it a more capable choice for sustained high-power transmission in confined builds or hot conditions.

MANUAL: MATEN-5.8G-2.5W-VTX-PRO说明书V1.3
What’s new in the PRO vs standard MATEN?
The headline upgrade is the integrated micro turbofan — an active cooling fan built directly into the PRO’s housing that significantly reduces thermal throttling risk at 1600mW and 2500mW power levels. The PRO also adds a second mounting option (20x20mm M2 alongside the standard 30.5×30.5mm M2) and expands channel count from 72 to 80. Everything else — the CNC shell, IRC Tramp, temperature protection, built-in mic, and wide voltage input — carries over from the standard MATEN. Pair it with components from our FPV VTX collection for a complete video system.
Key features
Active micro turbofan cooling
The PRO’s key upgrade over the standard MATEN — an integrated micro turbofan actively pushes air across the VTX internals, reducing heat buildup during sustained high-power transmission. Critical for 1600mW and 2500mW operation in builds without direct airflow, or in hot ambient conditions.
6 switchable power levels up to 2500mW
PIT mode, 25mW, 200mW, 600mW, 1600mW, and 2500mW — switch via IRC Tramp OSD from your goggles without landing, adapting output power to flight environment and local regulations.
CNC aluminium alloy shell
High-strength CNC-machined aluminium housing improves passive heat dissipation and adds significant impact resistance compared to plastic-body VTX units — working alongside the active fan to manage thermal load at maximum power.
Temperature control protection
Built-in thermal protection automatically manages power output if the VTX approaches critical temperature thresholds — protecting the hardware from heat damage during sustained high-power use.
IRC Tramp + 80 channel support
Full IRC Tramp protocol for OSD channel and power adjustment from your goggles or Betaflight OSD. Supports 80 transmission channels with direct frequency input via configurator.
Dual mounting pattern
Supports both 20x20mm M2 and 30.5×30.5mm M2 mounting — more flexible installation options than the standard MATEN’s M3-only 30.5×30.5mm pattern.
Built-in microphone + wide voltage input
Integrated microphone transmits real-time audio alongside video. Wide 7-36V input (2-8S LiPo compatible) covers the full range of FPV battery configurations without needing a separate BEC.

- 1x MMCX copper tube antenna
- 1x MMCX to SMA connector
- 1x SH1.0 6-pin connecting cable
- Mounting screws, standoffs, isolation columns, and nylon nuts
Recommended for
- Long-range analog FPV builds requiring maximum power output
- 7-inch and 10-inch builds in confined or hot environments
- 2-8S LiPo power systems
- Pilots wanting active cooling for sustained high-power operation
Build compatibility
Dual M2 mounting pattern supports both 20x20mm and 30.5×30.5mm stack configurations. MMCX antenna connector — use the included MMCX-to-SMA adapter for SMA antennas. Browse our flight controller and AIO range for compatible stack components.
Important: Always connect the antenna before powering on. The 5V output is for camera or cooling fan use only — never connect battery power directly to the 5V output pad, as this will permanently damage the VTX. Always ensure airflow during operation at high power levels.
