The AKK FX2 Dominator 2W VTX is a proven high-power analog video transmitter built for long-range FPV flying. The updated version starts at 25mW — giving you better low-power control for pit mode and multi-pilot sessions — while still reaching 2000mW for maximum range when you need it. Dual heatsinks on both sides of the board manage the significant thermal load at full power, and the optimised MMCX pigtail included with this version gives more antenna positioning flexibility than the original straight connector.
Why choose the FX2 Dominator 2W?
2000mW is a significant step up from standard 600-800mW VTX units — and the Dominator earns its name with a dual-heatsink design that actually manages the thermal load rather than just hoping airflow handles it. The 7-segment LCD display shows your current band, channel, and power at a glance during bench setup, Smart Audio lets you adjust everything from Betaflight OSD in the air, and the wide 2-6S voltage input means it fits the full range of long-range build configurations. Pair it with components from our FPV VTX collection for a complete video system.

Key features
Updated version — starts at 25mW
The updated FX2 Dominator now starts at 25mW instead of the original 250mW minimum. This matters for multi-pilot racing sessions (where low power avoids interference) and for bench testing without blasting full power without an antenna connected.
2000mW output — 4 power levels
Switch between 25mW, 500mW, 1000mW, and 2000mW to suit your environment. At 2000mW with a quality directional antenna on the ground, the FX2 Dominator can push analog video to genuinely extended long-range distances.
Dual heatsinks on both sides
Two heatsinks — one on each side of the PCB — are necessary at 2000mW output. The FX2 Dominator runs hot even at lower power levels, so always ensure good airflow during flight. The heatsinks protect the VTX internals during sustained high-power operation and add some crash protection to the board itself.
Smart Audio + single-button control
Smart Audio support allows full channel, band, and power adjustment from Betaflight OSD in flight. The single onboard button lets you configure everything manually — short press for channel, 2-second hold for band, 4-second hold for power.
7-segment LCD display
A clear 7-segment LCD shows current band, channel, and power level — more readable than LED indicators, especially in bright daylight during bench setup.
Built-in microphone
Integrated microphone transmits real-time motor and ambient audio alongside the video feed for added situational awareness and DVR recording.
Optimised MMCX pigtail
The updated version ships with an improved MMCX pigtail that allows more flexible antenna mounting positions compared to the original — useful for builds where straight-up antenna positioning isn’t possible.

What’s in the box
- 1x AKK FX2 Dominator 2W VTX (Updated Version)
- 1x Optimised MMCX antenna pigtail
- 1x 6-pin JST power and signal cable
Recommended for
- Long-range analog FPV builds — 7-inch and 10-inch
- Pilots needing maximum analog video range
- 2-6S LiPo power systems
- Builds with direct airflow across the VTX
Build compatibility
30.5×30.5mm M3 mounting — fits standard FC stack positions. MMCX antenna connector with included pigtail for SMA antenna connection. The 5V camera output is rated at 500mA maximum — do not exceed this limit. Browse our flight controller and AIO range for compatible stack components.
Important: The FX2 Dominator runs significantly hot at high power levels — always ensure strong airflow over the unit during flight. Never run at 1000mW or 2000mW on the bench without airflow. Always connect the antenna before powering on.
